Our jewelry is checked and hallmarked for precious metal content in accordance with the Dutch Waarborgwet (Precious Metals Act). That is why it carries an official, legal hallmark from the competent assay office in the country where the hallmarking takes place. Official foreign hallmarks found on our jewelry are recognized in the Netherlands.
Depending on where a piece is produced, the place of hallmarking may differ. Taj jewelry that is made in Indonesia is assayed in the Netherlands by a recognized assay office. Jewelry produced in Portugal is officially hallmarked by the Portuguese assay office (INCM/Contrastaria). And jewelry produced in Spain is assayed in Spain by a recognized laboratory or assay authority.
