These Terms and Conditions apply to the Taj Amsterdam website at www.taj.nl. This includes both the webshop with jewelry and the lifestyle magazine with articles. Taj Amsterdam is registered with the Chamber of Commerce with number 60160594. Our VAT number is 853789344B01. Article 1. General Terms and Conditions
1.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to all products, offers, orders, agreements and deliveries from Taj Amsterdam. By purchasing a product through our webshop, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. That is why it is important that you read these Terms and Conditions carefully before placing an order. Article 2. Agreement and Order
2.1 The agreement becomes binding when you place an order. Taj Amsterdam processes the order after your payment has been received. Until that time, Taj Amsterdam is the only and full owner of the products.
2.2 Once the order has been processed, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail that the order has been placed with the details of the order, a link to our return form and an invoice. As soon as your payment has been received by Taj Amsterdam, you will also receive an e-mail that the payment has been accepted.
2.3 Images and specifications are indicative. All products are handmade and therefore variations may occur. If a product does not meet your expectations, you can return it (see article 7), but it may not be a reason to file a claim.
Article 3. Payment and Payment Methods
3.1 You can pay in the Taj Amsterdam webshop by use of a number of secure payment methods: iDeal, credit card or bank transfer.
3.2 It is possible that Taj Amsterdam accidentally stated an incorrect price in the webshop. Taj Amsterdam has the right to alter this price, even after you have already ordered this item. Of course Taj Amsterdam will inform you of this altering in price, in which case you can choose to cancel your order.
3.3 All prices in the Taj Amsterdam webshop are including taxes but excluding shipping costs.
3.4 All your credit card information such as credit card number, expiration date etc. are automatically transferred via an encrypted secure system to the paymaster without Taj Amsterdam or others having access to the data. Even for possible refunds the complete credit card information cannot be seen.
Article 4. Shipping costs and delivery time
Netherlands: 1-2 working days – free for orders over 100 euros
Countries within the EU: 2-5 working days - shipping costs vary per country and are calculated by Taj Amsterdam during the ordering process (but before payment).
The rest of the world: 5-7 working days - shipping costs vary per country and are calculated by Taj Amsterdam during the ordering process (but before payment).
Article 5. Delivery
5.1 All orders are sent by post.
5.2 If the wrong delivery address is specified and therefore additional costs apply, Taj Amsterdam will charge these extra costs to you.
5.3 Taj Amsterdam always strives to deliver the order to you within the delivery time stated in clause 4. However, Taj Amsterdam is not liable for delays due to postal services.
5.4 Taj Amsterdam bears responsibility for the order up to and including the delivery. After delivery, the responsibility will be transferred to you.
5.5 Please note that the delivery times in clause 4 are estimated. In case a product does not arrive within the estimated arrival date it is not possible to make a claim. However, Taj Amsterdam will always do everything in their power to make sure your order arrives on time.
Article 6. Approval period
6.1 Taj Amsterdam strives to make all customers happy with their purchase. Nevertheless, we recommend that you check the quality and number of received products within seven (7) calendar days. If something is not right or missing, please send an e-mail to [email protected]. If Taj Amsterdam has received no written objections within seven (7) days, we assume that we have met our obligations fully.
6.2 During the approval period you must handle the articles and the packaging with care. You will use the product only to the extent necessary to be able to assess whether you like the product or not.
Article 7. Returns and exchanges
7.1 You have the right to return the delivered articles from Taj Amsterdam within fourteen (14) days after having received them. Exceptions to this are jewelry that is personalized (for example by means of an engraving), and that is therefore custom-made. In the case of custom-made jewelry, it is a final sale. This jewelry can therefore not be exchanged or returned.
7.2 Go to our return portal (https://taj-amsterdam.returnless.com/en) to register your return. Log in with your order number and email address and follow the steps.
7.3 Send your jewelry in the original packaging and follow the shipping instructions in our return portal.
7.4 The costs and responsibility of the return shipment are at your own expense. - Taj is not responsible for packages that disappear in the mail. Return costs vary per country and are paid by the customer. You will see the exact costs when creating a return label via our portal. These are equal to the postage costs of a registered package to our address in the Netherlands.
7.5 If goods are used, worn out, damaged or incomplete, we have the right to refuse returned items.
7.6 The refund will take place after receipt and inspection within 14 working days.
7.7 Taj Amsterdam can only transfer the refund to the account where the original payment came from.
7.8 If you'd like to exchange your jewelry for another size and/or model, please return your jewelry as stated above and order the right jewelry in our webshop.
Article 8. Guarantee
8.1 All our jewelry comes with a three-month warranty, starting the day of purchase. The day of purchase is the day on which a piece of jewelry is paid. If you are dissatisfied with the quality of a product or if your jewelry has a defect, send an email to [email protected] with your complaint. Add a clear photo of the product.
8.2 Taj Amsterdam will handle your warranty claim and look for a suitable solution. This can mean that we will replace the jewelry, have it repaired or give you a refund. How long it takes before a piece of jewelry is replaced or repaired differs per complaint and piece of jewelry.
8.3 We only offer a warranty on jewelry that does not show any defects caused by improper use. If you have tried to change or bend a piece of jewelry yourself, a piece of jewelry is no longer covered by the warranty.
8.4 General wear and tear, tarnishing, scratches and dents and the bending of a piece of jewelry are not covered by the warranty.
8.5 Fading of gold-plated jewelry is not covered by the warranty.
8.5 Loss of a piece of jewelry is not covered by the warranty.
Article 9. Jewelry Care
Taj Amsterdam jewelry is hand crafted and made of precious materials. To keep your jewelry as beautiful as possible, we would like to give you the following instructions.
Gold plated jewelry
To keep the color of gold plated jewelry from fading too quickly, it is important that you follow these instructions:
- Avoid contact with water. This means that you take off your jewelry before washing your hands, taking a shower, swimming, doing the dishes and during any other activity where there’s a chance the jewelry will come in contact with water.
- Store your jewelry in a clean and dry place without sunlight, humidity (like a bathroom) or heat.
- Avoid contact with perfume, oils, lotions and hand sanitizers, and make sure your jewelry does not come into contact with any chemicals (such as cleaning products). Also try to avoid contact with sweat.
- Remove your jewelry before going to bed, exercising and engaging in hand labor.
Sterling silver is a soft precious metal. That means that scratches and dents may occur in your silver jewelry just by wearing them. To keep your silver jewelry as beautiful as possible, we advise you to take it off if you are going to work in the garden, do sports and during any other activity that may damage your silver jewelry.
If you choose to not wear your silver jewelry for a while, the color may become slightly darker. Just polish your jewelry with some silver polish (such as Silvo) and a dry cloth and they will look like new again.
Article 10. Copyright
10.1 All photos and images displayed by Taj Amsterdam are copyrighted. Without written permission from Taj Amsterdam, photos and graphics cannot be reproduced and publicly used.
10.2 As a visitor of the Taj Amsterdam site you are not allowed to publish or reproduce any works protected by copyright or other information stored in the site without the permission of Taj Amsterdam (also not via your own network).
Article 11. Disputes
11.1 All legal relations are exclusively governed by the Dutch law.

Taj Amsterdam carefully puts together the content of its website. However, it is possible that the information published on the Taj Amsterdam site is incomplete or incorrect. Errors (in data processing) cannot always be prevented.
Claims and opinions expressed in the articles and announcements on the pages of the Taj Amsterdam site are those of the author (s) and not (necessarily) those of the editors, the webmaster or the Internet provider. Taj Amsterdam cannot guarantee that the information on the Taj Amsterdam website is suitable for the purpose for which the information is consulted by the visitor. All information, products and services are offered in the state in which they actually are and without any (implicit) guarantee or warranty as to their reliability and suitability for a particular purpose or otherwise.
